My Journey

Personal Story

Like all great origin stories, mine starts with a wise mentor (okay, a CEO) who saw something in me before I even knew what "product manager" meant.

One day, he looked at me and said, "You're meticulous, customer-centric but still business-savvy, and somehow manage to keep engineers, designers, and stakeholders from fighting. You belong in product." And just like that, I was drafted into the world of product management, where I've spent years building, strategizing, and making sense of fintech chaos ever since.

Fintech: Born Into the Business Life

Some kids grow up with bedtime stories, I grew up with balance sheets. My parents ran a business, so I was basically born into the world of money, deals, and making things work. Naturally, I gravitated toward fintech because, well, that's where the money is. (And let's be honest, it helped that my first job was in fintech too. Destiny? Maybe. A happy coincidence? Definitely.)

Crypto: Blame It on Dad

If you ever need proof that learning has no age limit, just look at my dad. The man retired, discovered YouTube crypto videos, and started making idle money while I was still figuring out my savings account. Watching him dive deep into crypto at 60+ was all the inspiration I needed. And as a certified daddy's girl, I couldn't just sit back, I had to jump in too. Now, here I am, deep in the world of blockchain, decentralization, and hodling for dear life.

Fun Facts About Me

Books I Love

I have the reading range of someone who loves both magic and messy drama. A few favorites:

  • Harry Potter — if I don't get my Hogwarts letter, I'll be filing a complaint with the Ministry of Magic.
  • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo — because Hollywood scandals plus old-school glamour is a chef's kiss.
  • Then She Was Gone — nothing like a good psychological thriller to keep me up at night.
  • Maame — a beautifully emotional read that made me laugh, cry, and reflect on life.

Hobbies

  • Books — obsessively reading them, talking about them, and now even building a marketplace for them.
  • Fitness — because lifting weights makes me feel like I could fight a bear (but I won't, obviously).
  • Fashion — I like looking good while overanalyzing product roadmaps.
  • Teaching kids — I love sparking curiosity and helping young minds grow through creativity and connection.
  • Sleeping — a highly underrated hobby that I take very seriously.

Side Projects

  • I run a surface design company with my cousin, because why not add "designer" to my list of talents?
  • I'm building a marketplace for books, because book hoarders like me need a safe space to thrive.
  • Developing a Christ-centered app that helps children discover and build a relationship with God from an early age.

The Weird Bits

Quirky Things About Me

01

I hear random words and immediately turn them into a song, badly. (Seriously, my voice is horrendous, but that doesn't stop me from performing an impromptu concert.)

02

I love kids, mostly because they ask so many whys that they force me to think deeply about things I never questioned before. Also, they're ridiculously cute.

03

I talk to myself, a lot. Sometimes full conversations, sometimes just a quick "hmm, that's a good point, Timileyin." (Yes, I refer to myself in third person.)

Why I Do This

Making Sense of Chaos (and Having Fun While at It)

I've always been curious, the kind of person who needs to know the why behind everything (maybe that's why I love kids so much; we're on the same wavelength).

Somehow, that curiosity led me to product management, where I get to turn messy ideas into structured, working solutions. I thrive in the chaos of fintech and crypto, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility, basically playing matchmaker between logic and innovation.

But beyond the spreadsheets, roadmaps, and strategy meetings, I believe work (and life) should be fun, meaningful, and a little bit weird. Whether it's launching a new product, writing about random musings, or breaking into song at the mention of a random word (again, I cannot sing), I want to stay curious, creative, and always growing.

If I'm not learning, solving problems, or laughing along the way, what's the point?
